Your safe and confidential space for online counselling across the UK
Let me begin by saying well done for making it this far.
The reason for your visit may be because you’ve decided that you want some help and support in your life that’s missing at the moment.
It's not always easy to ask for help; to admit that we haven't in fact got this, yet we can all benefit from having someone to lean on from time to time. Needing help today doesn't mean that you won't get back to a better, happier place; just that right now, in this moment, you could do with a little support.
There's absolutely nothing wrong in admitting that, so sincerely: well done for making it this far. We've all been there, the only difference is that not everyone gets as far as you in seeking help.
Selecting the right therapist can be tough.
Scanning the websites and profiles to find someone who might understand what you're faced with and who will listen, while you attempt to say out loud what's been going around in your head for so long.
I've been there.
Now that you've done the toughest part of looking for help, and looked over the words and many headshots, I hope that is where I can come in to potentially offer you the support that you're looking for.
I know that taking that next step and making contact can come with significant stress. I understand how hard it can be to make contact with a potential therapist, so I will do everything in my power to make it as straightforward and relaxed as possible for you.
Whether you choose to pick up the phone or drop me a message, the next stage is an informal and free telephone or video call of up to 15 minutes. It's often said that we form our first impression in just 7 seconds, so this gives us time to start getting to know each other and for me to get a sense of your needs and whether I'm best placed to help you. If we agree to work together, we'll then book a day and time for your first session.
Congratulations on taking this important step.

My career began in learning and development 25 years ago, and my journey into wellbeing and mental health started in 2012 when I established my business.
For over a decade, I have had the privilege of helping thousands of people develop a stronger mindset and build their resilience through training and solution-focused coaching.
When the pandemic struck, it gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion for helping people on a deeper level through therapy. Over four years, I balanced the demands of my business while studying for my therapeutic counselling qualifications.
I am a therapeutic counsellor with a humanistic integrative approach, incorporating Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt theories.
This might sound like an unusual mix, and you might not be familiar with all the terms. Essentially, it means that therapy with me is driven by your free will, self-discovery and desire to achieve your full potential. I am not confined to one theoretical approach; instead, I can draw from a variety of theories to best support you in the moment.
Regardless of the theory, our therapeutic relationship is always at the heart of our work. Sometimes we underestimate the simple yet profound impact of having someone who can empathise with us in a completely non-judgmental way, no matter what we are brave enough to share.
One important thing to know about me is that I will never tell you what to do.
While it might seem appealing for me to take control of your life, doing so would only add another voice telling you what to do. I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself, even if you don't fully believe that yet.
I am an accredited registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), which means I adhere to their ethical framework and am on a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I am fully insured and DBS checked.
As my clients are located across the UK, I exclusively offer online therapy from my private home office in Bournemouth, typically via Zoom.
Clients come to me for help with a wide range of issues that they’re facing relating to - for example - stress, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, bereavement, sexuality, depression, relationships and self-esteem.
Here are a few more of the challenges and difficulties that I have supported clients with through counselling therapy:
Here’s how my approach can help you:
Develop healthier coping mechanisms
Life can be overwhelming and sometimes it feels like we're just treading water. My approach focuses on helping you build strong coping mechanisms tailored to your unique needs. We'll explore practical strategies and tools that fit into your daily life, from managing stress to developing healthier habits. Together, we can work on how you might make small, sustainable tweaks that lead to big changes over time.
Improve relationships and communication
Healthy relationships are at the heart of a fulfilling life, yet they can be tricky to navigate. Whether you're struggling with personal relationships or professional ones, we can work on enhancing your communication skills and understanding your own needs and boundaries. My therapeutic approach can help you to explore your patterns and behaviours in relationships, allowing you to develop stronger, more meaningful connections with the people around you.
Gain clarity on your personal values
Feeling lost or uncertain about your direction in life can be incredibly frustrating. In our sessions, we can delve into what's truly important to you, helping you to identify your core values and how they can guide your decisions and actions. By understanding yourself better, you’ll gain a clearer sense of direction and purpose, making it easier to set goals and pursue what truly matters to you.
Increase self-esteem and confidence
Low self-esteem can hold you back from reaching your full potential. Through our work together, we can identify the underlying beliefs and patterns that affect your self-worth. Together, we can work on shifting your mindset and building a more positive self-image. You'll start to see yourself in a new light, feeling more confident and able to cope with life’s demands and achieve your potential.
Online therapy continues to grow since the Pandemic in 2020. Many people value the ease and choice available in accessing online help from the best person for them, without restrictions. As well as being in your own safe, familiar surroundings, online therapy with me is relaxed and informal. The only requirement other than being able to use Zoom (which I can help with), and a good internet connection, is that you are in a private space and cannot be overheard, so that you feel you can speak freely.
Proven effectiveness
Research has consistently shown online counselling and therapy to be just as effective as face to face.
Time saving
You save time and money by removing the need for travelling.
Comfort
Being in your own space can help you to feel more at ease, therefore helping you to get the most from therapy.
I am a therapeutic counsellor based in Bournemouth, Dorset, which is close to nearby towns such as Christchurch, Poole and Weymouth.
I work exclusively online, so as not to limit clients by geographical location and allowing them to choose the therapist who is best for them and their needs.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are online via Zoom, usually taking place each week or fortnight to create consistency and space for the therapeutic work to happen. I work on a short, medium and long-term basis, so your space will be available to you for as long as you need it.
The cost of each session is £60, paid by bank transfer at least 48 hours beforehand.
I currently have good availability for sessions on:
I'm happy to consider evening sessions on request. I also have a limited number of slots offering lower rates for those on low income and students; please contact me to find out about availability of these slots.
Please note that I require at least 48 hours cancellation notice, otherwise payment for your scheduled session will still be required.
Feel free to email me to find out more about how therapy works or to arrange your initial free 15 minute telephone or video call. I aim to get back to you within 2 working days and you are also welcome to leave a message on 07448 964221.
